Performative intervention at KunstQuartier Wien Meidling

„Stronghold“ machte auf die pre­käre Situation der Mieter:innen eines Ate­lierhauses in Wien aufmerksam, denen mit dem geplanten Abriss des Gebäudes der Verlust ihrer Arbeitsplätze und der Gemein­schaft drohte. Die textilen Arbeitsmaterialien der Mieter:innen wurden gestärkt und an der Straße vor dem Gebäude aufge­hängt, um zwischen öffentlichem Raum, dem Wäschaufhängen als Alltagshandlung und künstlerischer Arbeit Verhandlungsräu­me sichtbar zu gestalten.

‘Stronghold’ drew attention to the precarious situation of the tenants of a studio building in Vienna, who were threatened with the loss of their jobs and community with the planned demolition of the building. The tenants' textile work materials were strengthened and hung up on the street in front of the building in order to create visible spaces for negotiation between public space, hanging up laundry as an everyday activity and artistic work.
